Cognitive Skills:
🔶 Know Shapes and Colors: Identifying and naming different shapes and colors.
🐝 Rhyme Familiar Words: Recognizing and producing rhyming words. Hearing them in stories read aloud and being able to name them.
🎈 Count Objects (1-1 Correspondence): Counting objects accurately and understanding number value.
🗺️ Follow Multi-Step Directions: Completing tasks that involve multiple steps and oral and written directions.
📚 Recognize Letters in the Alphabet: Starting with the letters in their own name and noting the difference between upper and lower case letters.
📍 Understand Sequencing: Knowing what happened first, second, third, etc. in a story or schedule (like the school day activities).
‼️ Count to 20: Reciting and recognizing numbers up to 20.
🤔 Follow a Story and Make Predictions: Understanding the plot, identifying characters and predicting outcomes in literature.
❓ Ask and Answer Questions: Engaging in conversations with questions like what, why, when, and how.
↪️ Understand Directional Words: Knowing words like under, over, above, below, higher, lower, behind, and in front.
Social Emotional Skills:
⌛ Wait Their Turn: Practicing patience and turn-taking. This is a big deal for preschoolers but an essential skill to attain.
🫂 Show Compassion and Empathy for Others: Being kind and understanding.
🙋 Advocate for Themselves: Expressing their needs and wants confidently.
🧑🤝🧑 Able to Make a Friend: Building social connections and friendships.
👟 Dress Themselves Independently: Managing personal clothing and footwear.
🎒 Responsible for Their School Items: Taking care of their backpack, lunch box, and other belongings.
